Senior Chartered Building Surveyor

About the role

You will join a multidisciplinary Building Surveying team within a leading consultancy, delivering building pathology, design, project management and contract administration services across Leeds and the wider Yorkshire region.

Key responsibilities

• Produce plan, section and detail drawings for refurbishments, extensions, maintenance and new‑build projects using AutoCAD.
• Prepare, submit and manage planning, building‑regulation and listed‑building applications.
• Create schedules of work and specifications using NBS software.
• Coordinate deliverables and collaborate with architects, mechanical, electrical and structural engineers, quantity surveyors and CDM advisors.
• Conduct site visits, inspections and surveys; produce building‑survey reports and condition schedules.
• Develop project designs, carry out H&S risk assessments and ensure compliance with current CDM regulations.
• Chair multidisciplinary meetings, document minutes and issue formal meeting notes.
• Maintain an annual Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme and contribute to business‑process standards.

Required profile

• Chartered Building Surveyor qualification (RICS or equivalent).
• Proven experience delivering building surveys, pathology, design and contract administration.
• Ability to manage an increasing project workload and meet deadlines.
• Strong understanding of professional ethics and ability to apply them in client advice.
• Experience working on buildings containing asbestos.
• Post‑degree experience in the built‑environment sector.
