Senior Civil Engineer

About the role

Brandon James Ltd is looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to join its multidisciplinary consultancy in Oakington, Cambridgeshire. You will deliver practical, commercially‑focused civil engineering solutions across a range of public and private projects, covering building drainage, external works and civil infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Produce practical and economical civil engineering designs.
• Deliver building drainage, external works and infrastructure schemes.
• Interpret client requirements and develop suitable design solutions.
• Manage project tasks within agreed programmes and budgets.
• Support fee proposals, bids and commercial project monitoring.
• Coordinate with internal multidisciplinary teams and external consultants.
• Maintain accurate project, fee and progress information.
• Promote the consultancy’s civil engineering services.
• Ensure projects are completed to a high technical standard.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Chartered membership of the Institution of Civil Engineers, or progress towards chartership.
• Strong post‑qualification civil engineering experience.
• Experience on public and private sector projects.
• Knowledge of drainage, external works and civil infrastructure design.
• Comprehensive knowledge of UK Building Regulations and relevant legislation.
