Senior Client Accountant – Hybrid, £40‑50k

About the role

This senior client accountant position is based in Milton Keynes within a modern, digitally‑focused accountancy practice. You will work closely with the Senior Manager, overseeing junior staff while delivering high‑quality financial services to a portfolio of SME clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a diverse portfolio of SME clients across multiple industries.
• Prepare and review statutory accounts under FRS 102 and FRS 105.
• Prepare corporation tax computations and submit CT600 returns.
• Produce management accounts, forecasts and financial reports.
• Review VAT returns and ensure compliance.
• Liaise with HMRC, Companies House, banks and other third parties.
• Mentor and review work of junior team members.
• Support workflow planning, team development and process improvement.
• Utilise Xero, Dext and other cloud‑based accounting tools.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified, or qualified by experience.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a UK accountancy practice.
• Proven experience managing SME clients independently.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
