Senior Cloud Engineer – Azure (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to lead Azure cloud strategy and architecture for a fast‑growing, innovation‑focused organisation. You will act as the technical authority across solution design, delivery, security and continuous improvement, working in a hybrid environment based in Abingdon.

Key responsibilities

• Design secure, scalable and resilient Azure solutions.
• Serve as the Azure subject‑matter expert for projects and stakeholder engagements.
• Create architecture documentation, solution designs and infrastructure diagrams.
• Drive Infrastructure as Code adoption using Bicep and modern cloud engineering practices.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
• Automate operational processes using PowerShell and Azure CLI.
• Lead complex Azure deployments, troubleshooting and technical escalations.
• Support Azure Integration Services such as Logic Apps, Service Bus, Event Grid and API Management.
• Enhance cloud security, governance and compliance frameworks.
• Mentor engineers and promote best practices across cloud operations.

Required profile

• Strong commercial experience in Microsoft Azure cloud engineering and architecture.
• Azure Administrator (AZ‑104) and Azure Solutions Architect (AZ‑305) certifications.
• Proven experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub, CI/CD implementation and IaC using Bicep.
• Hands‑on automation using PowerShell and Azure CLI.
• Experience with Azure Integration Services and API design (REST/SOAP).
• Solid knowledge of cloud security, vulnerability remediation and governance.
• Ability to produce clear technical and non‑technical documentation.
• Effective stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
