Senior Commercial Analyst

About the role

Join a leading financial services business as a Senior Commercial Analyst within its commercial investment team. You will transform complex data into commercial insights that shape investment decisions, assess new opportunities and identify risks across a diverse portfolio. The role offers exposure to investment appraisal, portfolio performance, strategic decision‑making and stakeholder engagement in a fast‑paced, data‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Build, maintain and enhance sophisticated financial models to support investment decisions.
• Analyse financial performance, returns and profitability across multiple investment strategies.
• Conduct forecasting, scenario modelling, sensitivity analysis and stress testing.
• Monitor portfolio performance, identify trends and provide actionable recommendations.
• Support evaluation of new investment opportunities through detailed financial analysis.
• Present findings and explain outputs to senior stakeholders across finance, investment and portfolio management.

Required profile

• Degree from a top‑tier university in a quantitative discipline (Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Accounting or other STEM subject).
• Strong financial‑modelling capability and advanced Excel proficiency.
• Solid understanding of accounting and finance principles.
• Experience in corporate finance, consulting, investment, commercial finance or an analytical environment.
