Senior Community Carer – Children with Complex Needs

About the role

As a Senior Community Carer you will provide high‑quality, person‑centred care to children with complex medical needs in their own homes and the wider community. You will mentor junior staff, support families and work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and comfortable care.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver consistent, high‑quality care to children and young people with complex health needs, following care plans and safeguarding procedures.
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with children, families and multidisciplinary colleagues.
• Mentor and support junior carers, sharing knowledge and best practice.
• Assist in service development and contribute ideas to improve care delivery.
• Ensure documentation is accurate and up‑to‑date.

Required profile

• Significant experience caring for children with complex medical needs.
• Compassionate, reliable and able to work independently.
• Strong communication skills with families and health professionals.
• Ability to mentor colleagues and support team development.

Required skills

• Knowledge of care planning and safeguarding procedures.
• Experience with medication administration and medical equipment used in home care.
