Senior Construction Manager (Civil / Strategy)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Construction Manager to lead the UK construction strategy for large‑scale engineering and energy projects. You will oversee complex construction programmes across the Gas Transmission Network and future Rolls‑Royce SMR initiatives, reporting directly to senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for multi‑million‑pound construction projects.
• Ensure compliance with CDM 2015 regulations and conduct regular audits.
• Develop and maintain the UK Construction Strategy.
• Act as the primary client liaison, managing stakeholder expectations.
• Plan and manage manpower resources to sustain project delivery.
• Work from a Widnes‑based office with hybrid arrangements and travel to sites across the UK as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Construction Manager in civil, energy, utilities, rail, oil or gas sectors.
• Strong background in delivering large, complex infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with Tier 1 environments and strategic project delivery.
• Ability to manage budgets, timelines and multi‑disciplinary teams.

Required skills

• CDM 2015 compliance knowledge.
• PRINCE2 project management methodology.
• Advanced construction management expertise.
