Senior Construction Manager (Energy)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Construction Manager with extensive experience in the energy sector to lead multi‑million‑pound construction projects across the UK’s gas transmission network and upcoming nuclear initiatives. This permanent, hybrid role is based in Runcorn and reports directly to senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the delivery of complex construction projects, ensuring they meet budget, schedule and quality targets.
• Maintain compliance with CDM 2015 regulations and audit project processes.
• Develop and implement the UK construction strategy for the business.
• Act as the primary liaison for clients and key stakeholders, managing expectations and communication.
• Plan and control manpower resources throughout the project lifecycle.
• Travel to project sites across the UK as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Senior Construction Manager or similar role within the energy sector (power generation, transmission, oil & gas, renewables, etc.).
• Demonstrated ability to manage large‑scale, high‑value construction programmes.
• Strong understanding of UK construction regulations and industry standards.

Required skills

• Knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations.
• PRINCE2 project management methodology.
