Senior Consultant – Financial Services Compliance

About the role

Thistle Initiatives is seeking a Senior Consultant to join its Credit & Insurance team. The role supports FCA‑regulated firms in consumer credit, mortgage and insurance activities, providing expert guidance on compliance and financial crime matters.

Key responsibilities

• Review and analyse client documentation against relevant legal and regulatory frameworks.
• Prepare and support FCA authorisation applications for insurance, consumer credit and mortgage firms.
• Act as the first point of contact for clients, answering technical queries throughout the application process.
• Draft audit reports and conduct client visits, progressing from assisted to independent engagements.
• Monitor FCA and industry updates to provide clients with timely regulatory insights.
• Deliver project work as required, adapting to changing priorities.
