Senior Consultant – Ops/Strategy (National Security, DV Cleared)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Consultant (Ops/Strategy) to join a specialist consultancy delivering high‑impact transformation and strategy programmes for Defence and National Security clients. The role involves working closely with senior stakeholders to solve strategic business challenges, improve operating models and support critical investment decisions in a highly secure environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex consulting engagements for Defence and National Security clients.
• Manage project delivery using structured consulting and problem‑solving methodologies.
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis to develop strategic recommendations and business cases.
• Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders and act as the primary day‑to‑day interface.
• Support business development activities and contribute to winning new consulting opportunities.
• Contribute to thought leadership, knowledge sharing and capability development within the team.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering complex consulting engagements within Defence, National Security or similarly regulated environments.
• Strong background in business strategy, operating‑model transformation, cost optimisation and investment decision support.
• Excellent stakeholder management and client‑facing consulting skills.
• Experience leading project teams and managing multiple workstreams.
• Strong analytical, presentation and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Must hold enhanced DV / UKIC clearance.
• Nice to have: experience in a Big 4 or leading management consultancy, business‑development experience and a track record of mentoring consulting teams.
