Senior Controls Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Controls Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Clevedon. You will design and develop advanced control and visualisation software for innovative products, providing technical leadership and mentoring junior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop PLC and HMI software for new and existing products.
• Create and review software specifications and technical documentation.
• Conduct software testing, validation and simulation activities.
• Support project planning and ensure timely delivery of engineering tasks.
• Drive continuous improvement of controls engineering processes and standards.
• Investigate software quality issues and provide expert technical support.
• Produce release documentation, manuals and build notes.
• Mentor junior engineers and deliver technical training.

Required profile

• HND, degree or equivalent in Controls Engineering, Software Engineering or related field.
• Minimum five years’ experience in controls and software engineering.
• Strong background in industrial automation and multidisciplinary team work.
• Excellent communication, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
