Senior Costs Lawyer – High‑Value Litigation

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Costs Lawyer to join a leading national law firm’s specialist costs team in Cardiff. The role involves handling complex, high‑value costs matters arising from personal injury, commercial litigation and group actions across England and Wales.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare Bills of Costs, Cost Budgets, Schedules of Costs and Points of Dispute.
• Negotiate settlements and draft replies to cost disputes.
• Represent clients at detailed assessment hearings and Costs Case Management Hearings.
• Manage a varied caseload of high‑value costs matters independently.
• Provide technical support to junior team members and collaborate with fee earners.

Required profile

• Qualified Costs Lawyer, Solicitor or Senior Law Costs Draftsperson with strong technical expertise.
• Proven experience in high‑value, complex costs matters.
• Excellent communication, organisational and advocacy skills.
• Ability to work independently and build strong client relationships.

Required skills

• CostsMaster (advantageous).
