Senior Credit Controller – Finance Team

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑established business in High Wycombe to hire a Senior Credit Controller. This permanent, hands‑on position will manage a diverse portfolio of SME and large corporate clients, ensuring timely debt recovery while maintaining strong customer relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Proactively collect outstanding debt across a portfolio of accounts.
• Address aged and difficult debt using effective recovery strategies.
• Monitor credit limits, assess risk, and produce regular aged debt reports for senior management.
• Lead by example in a hands‑on capacity while supporting one junior team member.
• Continuously review and improve credit control processes.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in credit control, preferably in a senior or supervisory role.
• Proven track record of reducing aged debt and improving cash collection.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of the ledger.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
