Senior Credit Controller

About the role

We are partnering with a leading UK professional services firm to hire a Senior Credit Controller on a temporary‑to‑permanent basis. The role combines hands‑on working‑capital management with team leadership, supporting financial performance and delivering an excellent client experience.

Key responsibilities

• Manage work‑in‑progress, debt and overall working capital for assigned departments and clients.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to drive billing and cash‑collection performance.
• Lead regular review meetings on complex or high‑value matters.
• Act as subject‑matter expert on revenue control and billing queries.
• Oversee monthly billing cycles and ensure timely cash collection.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, including discounts and write‑offs.
• Identify and drive process improvements across billing and revenue management.
• Line‑manage and develop Revenue Controllers and Billing Assistants.
• Serve as escalation point for complex or sensitive client issues.

Required profile

• Proven experience in revenue control, credit control or billing within a professional services environment.
• Confidence working with senior stakeholders such as partners or directors.
• Experience managing complex or high‑value client portfolios.
• Previous line‑management or mentoring experience with a collaborative approach.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement.
• Available on short notice or immediately.
• Experience in a legal or partnership environment is advantageous but not essential.
