Senior Credit Controller

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join a growing finance team in Shaftesbury. The role offers full ownership of a customer ledger, the chance to build strong relationships, and a direct impact on cash flow and business performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of customer accounts from invoice issuance through to payment.
• Drive cash collection activities and reduce aged debt.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, handling queries and disputes.
• Monitor risk exposure and produce aged debt reports to support cash‑flow management.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across the business to improve processes.
• Support month‑end activities including reconciliations, reporting and ledger close.
• Assist with finance projects and ad‑hoc duties as required.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Proven credit control experience, preferably in a senior or standalone capacity.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to work independently while building effective internal and external relationships.
• Commercial awareness and a proactive, solutions‑focused approach.
• Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
