Senior Credit Controller

About the role

Are you an experienced Credit Controller looking for a role where you can take ownership of a portfolio, reduce aged debt and play a key role in improving cash flow? An established organisation is looking to appoint a Senior Credit Controller to join their finance team, reporting directly to the Finance Director.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of customer accounts, proactively chasing outstanding debt and reducing aged balances.
• Contact customers by telephone, email and written correspondence, negotiating payment plans and resolving payment delays.
• Investigate and resolve invoice disputes, payment queries and account discrepancies, working closely with Sales, Operations and Customer Service.
• Assess customer creditworthiness, monitor payment trends and recommend appropriate credit limits and actions to minimise bad‑debt exposure.
• Allocate and reconcile incoming payments, maintain accurate customer records and produce aged debt and collection performance reports.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a Senior Credit Controller, Credit Controller, Accounts Receivable or similar finance role.
• Strong understanding of credit control, debt collection and credit risk management.
• Strong Excel and finance systems experience, ideally with exposure to ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Dynamics or Sage.
