Senior Credit Controller / Sales Ledger Clerk (12‑month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

This 12‑month fixed‑term position supports the finance function of a well‑established organisation. You will manage the sales ledger, reduce aged debt and help maintain healthy cash flow through proactive credit control.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of the sales ledger and maintain accurate customer accounts.
• Raise and process sales invoices, credit notes and account adjustments promptly.
• Proactively follow up overdue balances and record all customer contact and payment arrangements.
• Allocate incoming payments and ensure cash receipts are posted correctly.
• Perform regular customer account and sales ledger control account reconciliations.
• Complete bank reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies.
• Resolve billing queries by liaising with customers and internal departments.
• Prepare aged debt reports and provide updates on collection activity.
• Contribute to debtor review meetings and support month‑end / year‑end finance processes.
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives for finance processes and controls.

Required profile

• Experienced Credit Controller with strong sales ledger management and debt recovery skills.
• Confident communicator able to engage with customers at all levels and resolve issues diplomatically.
• Detail‑oriented, able to work accurately in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proven ability to build effective relationships across the business.
