Senior Credit Underwriter – Residential Real Estate

About the role

Our client, a leading credit risk management organisation, is looking for a Senior Credit Underwriter to join the Institutional Credit Management team. You will be responsible for overseeing credit underwriting for residential real‑estate exposures, ensuring high‑quality documentation and risk assessment across the Institutional Client Group.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation and review of Credit Approval Memo (CAM) packages, guaranteeing accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborate with senior underwriters to provide credit recommendations, risk ratings and regulatory classifications.
• Analyse financial statements and client data to identify strengths, weaknesses and key risk factors.
• Perform projection modelling and stress‑testing using research from multiple sources.
• Conduct periodic credit monitoring, including annual and quarterly reviews, and flag potential concerns.
• Communicate operational performance issues to relationship managers and support audit and regulatory examinations.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of credit risk experience in financial services, preferably focused on residential real estate or rating agencies.
• Strong knowledge of rating‑agency methodologies, securitisation structures and non‑bank financial institutions.
• Exceptional analytical ability with a sense of urgency and strong organisational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, capable of presenting complex information clearly.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.
