Senior Data Engineer – Global Quant Firm

About the role

A leading global quant firm is seeking a pragmatic Senior Data Engineer to join its Vendor Data Group in London. You will work closely with a trading team to build and maintain mission‑critical data integration pipelines for alternative commodity and macro data, while developing scalable architectures and optimizing data workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines that support trading operations.
• Create scalable data architectures and improve data processing efficiency.
• Collaborate with traders and analysts to deliver reliable commodity and macro data feeds.
• Maintain and enhance tools used for data integration and monitoring.
• Optimize workflows and ensure data accuracy in real‑time environments.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer.
• Strong proficiency in Python development, DevOps practices, and Linux environments.
• Expert‑level experience building ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Familiarity with data analytics libraries such as Pandas and NumPy.
• Preferred experience with commodities, macro, or alternative data.
