Senior Data & Performance Officer

About the role

This 9‑month contract position sits within a newly formed Regional Delivery Team for a public‑sector net‑zero programme. You will turn complex data into clear evidence that shapes strategy, guides decisions and demonstrates impact to senior stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver quantitative and qualitative analysis to inform strategic and operational priorities.
• Build and develop a CRM system using PowerApps/Dynamics 365 and train managers and teams.
• Create and maintain a project performance dashboard tracking key programme indicators.
• Lead GIS mapping projects to visualise regional data.
• Automate processes and reporting to improve team efficiency.
• Act as the data champion and ensure GDPR‑compliant data management.
• Build strong relationships with local and national partners and represent the organisation on a cross‑regional data working group.

Required profile

• Strong analytical background with a degree‑level education (or equivalent) and a quantitative focus.
• Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate, PowerApps/Dynamics 365).
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with multiple data sources.
• Good understanding of GIS and CRM systems.
• Working knowledge of coding languages such as SQL, DAX, HTML or JavaScript.
• Proven experience designing analysis and reporting that influences strategy.
• Ability to translate complex technical information for non‑technical audiences.
• Strong stakeholder management and the ability to work independently to tight deadlines.
• Desirable: understanding of the net‑zero and climate change agenda and project‑management experience.
