Senior Data Scientist

About the role

Map of Ag is a technology company focused on data science and insights in the agriculture sector. Based in Penrith, we support the entire agrifood supply chain with analytics that drive sustainability and animal welfare. We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Scientist to lead complex data initiatives and shape our analytical capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of analytical models and processes across key projects.
• Direct technical aspects, including tool selection, methodology and delivery processes.
• Mentor and guide analytics team members through code reviews and technical support.
• Process and mine large datasets using intelligent criteria and mapping rules.
• Build and maintain models that generate key performance indicators and add business value.
• Collaborate with Product and Client Services to align analytics outputs with business needs.
• Document findings and communicate recommendations clearly.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in data science or applied analytics with progressive responsibility.
• Experience solving domain‑specific problems, preferably in agriculture or sustainability.
• Proven ability to work in an agile team and strong organisational and project‑management skills.
• STEM degree or equivalent professional experience.
