Senior Databricks Architect

About the role

Our client, a large-scale organisation investing heavily in data and cloud technologies, is looking for a Senior Databricks Architect to join its Data & AI practice in London. The role will focus on designing and delivering enterprise-scale data platforms that enable advanced analytics, real-time processing and modern data product delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable data architectures on Databricks and AWS.
• Build batch and real-time pipelines from legacy and modern sources.
• Develop transformation frameworks using Spark, PySpark and SQL.
• Apply Lakehouse and Medallion Architecture principles to create reusable data products.
• Integrate complex enterprise data sources while ensuring governance, security and quality.
• Provide architectural leadership and collaborate with business stakeholders, engineering teams and data consumers.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Data Architect, Databricks Architect, Lead Data Engineer or Solutions Architect.
• Strong background in designing modern data lake or lakehouse solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka and AWS data services, especially Amazon S3.
• Deep understanding of data governance, security and quality practices.
