About the role

Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) is seeking a senior‑level Designer to join its London studio. You will be a key design voice, shaping ambitious global projects from concept through delivery while championing sustainability and innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design process from early concept through construction, ensuring quality, performance and constructability.
• Conduct cross‑disciplinary design reviews and resolve complex challenges.
• Mentor junior talent and foster a collaborative, design‑led culture.
• Develop compelling design narratives for clients and internal stakeholders.
• Contribute to thought leadership and advocacy across the firm.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience leading large‑scale, complex projects.
• Licensed architect preferred.
• Passionate about impactful and sustainable design.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to articulate design intent through documentation and presentation.
