Senior Development Manager – Residential Projects

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Development Manager to lead the delivery of a flagship new‑build residential scheme of approximately 400 homes in Hampshire. Reporting to the Project Director, you will own the project from planning through to completion, ensuring it meets programme, quality, cost and stakeholder expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of a large‑scale residential project.
• Manage external consultants, contractors and professional teams.
• Oversee project programmes, budgets and risk management processes.
• Collaborate with planning, design, commercial and construction teams.
• Monitor contractor performance against agreed milestones.
• Maintain relationships with local authorities, consultants, residents and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory and governance requirements.
• Support procurement strategies and contract management activities.
• Prepare regular reports for senior leadership and project boards.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering large residential schemes, either from a housing developer, residential developer or main contractor background.
• Strong understanding of planning, design, construction and commercial aspects of residential development.
• Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Excellent organisational and risk‑management skills.
