Senior Digital Electronics Engineer

About the role

Astroscale is looking for an experienced Senior Digital Electronics Engineer to join its Command & Data‑Handling (C&DH) team in Harwell, Oxfordshire. You will work on the full lifecycle of spacecraft electronics, from early design through testing, verification and on‑orbit operations, helping the company tackle the orbital‑debris challenge.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain C&DH subsystem requirements and interface control documents.
• Define, plan and execute subsystem test and verification campaigns, including environmental testing.
• Design and review circuit and PCB layouts to meet functional and reliability goals.
• Lead FMECA and FDIR activities and support anomaly investigation and root‑cause analysis.
• Collaborate with flight‑software engineers on data‑handling functions and on‑board autonomy.
• Support procurement of C&DH equipment and interact with partners and suppliers.
• Contribute to avionics architecture trade‑offs, processor selection, data‑bus design and redundancy concepts.

Required profile

• Proven experience in digital electronics design for spacecraft or high‑reliability systems.
• Ability to work autonomously in a small, fast‑moving team.
• Strong analytical skills for failure analysis and fault‑tolerant design.
• Excellent communication for cross‑disciplinary coordination.
