Senior Director, Business Development (French Speaking)

About the role

The Senior Director, Business Development (French Speaking) will lead strategic growth initiatives for a leading CRO across the United Kingdom. Working in an international, collaborative environment, you will drive new client acquisition, expand existing partnerships, and represent the organisation at key industry events.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, develop and secure new business opportunities with pharmaceutical, biotechnology and healthcare clients.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients to ensure long‑term growth and account retention.
• Lead the full sales cycle, from prospecting and negotiations to contract finalisation.
• Coordinate responses to RFPs and RFIs in partnership with cross‑functional teams.
• Develop and execute territory, key‑account and strategic growth plans aligned with revenue targets.
• Represent the company at conferences, trade shows, client meetings and bid‑defence presentations.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on major client presentations and strategic opportunities.
• Consistently achieve individual sales targets while delivering high‑quality customer service.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Sciences or related field; Master’s or MBA preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of business development or clinical sales experience within the CRO industry.
• Strong understanding of the clinical drug development process (Phase II‑IV).
• Proven track record of generating new business and meeting ambitious revenue goals.
• Fluency in English and French, both written and spoken.
• Willingness to travel extensively across the UK and internationally.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience using CRM or sales‑management software.
