Senior Director, Translational Genetics

About the role

We are looking for a senior leader to head the Translational Genetics team within GSK’s R&D Translational Sciences organisation. The role combines strategic direction with hands‑on analytical expertise to drive data‑driven genetics projects that accelerate our drug discovery pipeline.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the translational genetics strategy aligned with GSK therapeutic priorities.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team of scientists, ensuring delivery of high‑impact genetic analyses on schedule.
• Integrate association genetics with genomics, proteomics and clinical phenotypic data to answer priority translational questions.
• Collaborate with internal functions and external academic partners to advance target discovery, validation and biomarker programmes.
• Provide scientific leadership to senior stakeholders and contribute to leadership development programmes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in association genetics and statistical genetics applied to drug discovery.
• Track record of integrating genetics with genomics, proteomics and clinical data.
• Demonstrated line‑management experience in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
• Strong communication skills to influence senior leaders and external collaborators.
