Senior EHS Compliance Engineer – Manufacturing & Pharma

About the role

We are seeking a Senior EHS Compliance Engineer to lead environmental, health and safety compliance across a manufacturing and pharmaceutical site in Hatfield. The role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on implementation to ensure regulatory adherence and promote a strong safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee EHS compliance for operational and project activities.
• Advise management on statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Support audits, inspections and compliance reporting.
• Lead incident investigations and drive improvement initiatives.
• Maintain EHS systems, records and documentation.
• Collaborate with internal teams, contractors and external stakeholders.
• Monitor regulatory updates to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Support training and development of EHS awareness across the business.

Required profile

• Proven experience in EHS and engineering compliance within a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of UK legislation such as CDM, PUWER and LOLER.
• NEBOSH qualification or equivalent.
• Experience in regulated sectors (pharmaceutical, chemical or similar) is desirable.
• Strong organisational and communication abilities.
• Capability to influence and drive cultural change.
