Senior Electrical Design Engineer

About the role

Finlay Jude Associates is recruiting on behalf of a leading water and wastewater infrastructure specialist for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer based in Glasgow. The role is hybrid and involves delivering electrical design solutions for capital maintenance and growth projects across Scotland, from concept through to delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review electrical engineering deliverables such as schematic diagrams, cable calculations, cable schedules, layout drawings and technical specifications.
• Support project managers throughout all project stages and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated designs.
• Participate in internal and external design reviews, providing technical expertise and guidance.
• Prepare engineering reports, feasibility studies, specifications and other supporting documentation.
• Develop and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and ensure compliance with CDM Regulations and health & safety legislation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in electrical design for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Ability to produce high‑quality engineering designs and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Strong knowledge of industry standards, client requirements and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent collaboration skills with project managers, design teams and external stakeholders.
