Senior Electrical Engineer – Building Services

About the role

We are partnering with a leading MEP consultancy in the North West to recruit a Senior Electrical Engineer for high‑rise residential, commercial and refurbishment projects. You will own the electrical design from concept through to completion, mentor junior engineers and help shape sustainable, low‑carbon solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead electrical design covering lighting, power, LV distribution, containment, fire detection and emergency systems.
• Produce calculations and ensure compliance using Amtech or equivalent software.
• Manage submissions to the Building Safety Regulator and oversee design gateway processes for higher‑risk projects.
• Provide sustainable design advice, conduct energy modelling and ensure Part L compliance.
• Represent the consultancy at client meetings, design reviews and coordinate with architects, contractors and other stakeholders.
• Mentor and develop junior and intermediate engineers.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in electrical design for building services.
• Strong technical leadership and ability to manage complex, high‑profile projects.
• Excellent communication skills for client and multidisciplinary team interaction.
• Commitment to sustainability and low‑carbon design practices.
