Senior Electrical Project Engineer – Renewable Energy

About the role

Join a fast‑growing renewable energy developer and operator as a Senior Electrical Project Engineer. You will be hands‑on from concept through delivery, shaping projects that accelerate the UK’s net‑zero transition.

Key responsibilities

• Lead electrical input on early‑stage projects, including feasibility studies, capacity optimisation and layout design.
• Drive grid‑connection applications, negotiate with DNOs and National Grid, and review connection offers and technical specifications (G99).
• Develop high‑level designs such as single‑line diagrams, protection schemes and earthing systems, and define employer’s requirements.
• Identify risks, constraints and opportunities that affect project value.
• Manage consultants, OEMs and EPC contractors to ensure technical and commercial alignment.
• Support due‑diligence, tender preparation and supplier selection.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of LV, MV and HV systems and grid‑connection expertise.
• Proven ability to review technical designs and influence key decisions.
• Commercial awareness with solid engineering judgement.
• Experience in the power industry and/or renewable‑energy sector.
