Senior Electronic Design Engineer – Cambridge

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Electronic Design Engineer to join a fast‑growing engineering team in Cambridge. You will own the design and development of safety‑critical electronic systems, guiding projects from concept through production and end‑of‑life support. This role offers the chance to work on high‑impact hardware that meets stringent safety and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop electronic hardware for safety‑critical applications.
• Capture hardware requirements and translate them into robust schematics.
• Create detailed schematics and support PCB layout activities.
• Design, analyse, and validate switch‑mode power supplies.
• Perform simulation, engineering analysis, and EMC testing.
• Test, validate, and troubleshoot hardware throughout the product lifecycle.
• Produce comprehensive technical documentation.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams and external partners to optimise cost and manufacturability.
• Take technical ownership of projects and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in electronic design, preferably in a regulated or safety‑critical industry.
• Proven ability to deliver high‑quality, reliable hardware solutions.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ownership mindset.
