Senior Embedded Linux Engineer – Cambridge

About the role

We are seeking a senior embedded Linux engineer to join a leading technology business in Cambridge. The role offers a unique mix of hardware‑close development and high‑level software design, allowing you to turn ambitious concepts into reliable, real‑world platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement embedded Linux solutions using Yocto or PetaLinux.
• Develop firmware for ARM‑based microcontrollers such as STM32.
• Integrate and test interfaces with on‑board FPGAs and communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN).
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define system architecture and ensure scalability.
• Mentor junior engineers and act as the design authority for software workstreams.

Required profile

• Strong proficiency in C and/or C++ for embedded systems.
• Extensive experience with embedded platforms and low‑SWaP design constraints.
• Solid understanding of UML and rigorous engineering practices.
• Ability to work on complex projects in robotics, drone or space domains.
