Senior Employee Relations Manager

About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Employee Relations professional to join a large, complex medical organisation as a Senior Employee Relations Manager. You will provide specialist advice, lead a dedicated HR team and partner with senior stakeholders on complex people matters.
Key responsibilities
- Managing complex disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence and change management cases.
- Providing expert advice on employment law, HR policies and best practice.
- Leading and developing a team of Employee Relations Advisors.
- Supporting senior managers through formal hearings, investigations and appeals.
- Representing management at appeal hearings and Employment Tribunals where required.
- Building effective relationships with senior leaders, managers and Trade Union representatives.
- Designing and delivering management and HR training programmes.
- Reviewing and developing HR policies and procedures.
- Leading and supporting workforce projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Deputising for the Head of Employee Relations when required.
Required profile
- CIPD qualification (or equivalent HR experience).
- Significant experience managing complex Employee Relations cases.
- Excellent knowledge of UK employment law and its practical application.
- Experience managing or leading HR professionals.
- Outstanding communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to influence and challenge at senior level.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
- Experience delivering management training and supporting organisational change.
- Experience within a clinical/medical or another large, unionised organisation (highly advantageous).
