Senior Employment Counsel

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Employment Counsel to join a large, multi‑site UK organisation undergoing growth and transformation. The role is newly created to provide strategic employment‑law advice across several business units, reduce reliance on external counsel, and partner closely with senior leadership and HR on critical workforce matters.

Key responsibilities

• Advise senior leaders and HR teams on complex contentious and non‑contentious employment law issues.
• Support business growth, organisational change, restructures and workforce transformation initiatives.
• Lead sensitive employee‑relations matters, investigations and employment disputes.
• Ensure consistency of legal advice and risk management across multiple UK units.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels and reduce external legal spend through pragmatic, commercially focused support.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with significant employment‑law experience in private practice and/or in‑house.
• Proven track record supporting organisational change, restructuring and workforce transformation projects.
• Strong stakeholder‑management skills with the ability to influence senior leadership.
• Commercially minded, pragmatic and solutions‑focused.
• Comfortable working autonomously in a complex, multi‑site environment.
