About the role
Quotient Therapeutics is looking for a Senior Engineer to lead the design and evolution of its cloud‑based data and AI infrastructure that supports a genomics‑first drug discovery platform. The role sits in the Data Infrastructure team at the Chesterford Research Campus near Cambridge and offers technical autonomy to shape architecture, mentor engineers and deliver reliable, scalable solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Lead architecture and evolution of AWS‑based services, scientific data platforms and AI/ML workloads, balancing speed, reliability, security and cost.
- Design and implement reusable infrastructure‑as‑code, CI/CD and environment‑management patterns.
- Own cross‑cutting decisions for observability, identity & access management, networking, resilience and data lifecycle.
- Partner with Cloud and Data Engineers to deliver integrated solutions and provide mentorship through design reviews and incident response.
- Translate model development, training and inference requirements from AI scientists and computational biologists into secure, reproducible platform capabilities.
- Diagnose and resolve complex failures across infrastructure, pipelines and AI workloads, leading incident reviews and corrective actions.
Required profile
- 7+ years of experience designing, building and operating production cloud or data infrastructure.
- Advanced hands‑on experience with AWS and ownership of multiple interdependent production systems.
- Strong software engineering skills in Python and Linux, including automated testing and version control.
- Experience supporting data‑intensive life‑science workflows and enabling AI/ML workloads in the cloud.
- Proven ability to lead complex technical initiatives, make trade‑offs and mentor engineers.
