Senior Engineer

About the role

Kier Design is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead the delivery of civil and structural engineering services across a range of infrastructure projects. Based in Leeds (with work possible in Norwich), you will develop safe, buildable Permanent Works solutions and support both tenders and live projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Permanent Works design across Kier Design's infrastructure portfolio.
• Provide technical input to bids, delivering innovative, buildable concepts.
• Review and assure third‑party designs for technical compliance.
• Conduct site visits, inspections and surveys, offering safety and design advice.
• Act as Job Leader, managing client liaison, design delivery and workload planning.

Required profile

• Professional engineering qualification (CEng/IEng) or equivalent experience.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Proven experience delivering civil and structural Permanent Works design for infrastructure projects.
• Ability to support tenders with outline designs, feasibility input and buildability‑focused concepts.
