Senior Engineer – River Infrastructure

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Engineer to join our Design – Civils River Infrastructure team in Bristol. The role combines remote flexibility with occasional office visits, allowing you to deliver high‑impact river and hydraulic projects for major clients such as the Environment Agency and Severn Trent.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support civil infrastructure and river engineering projects from feasibility through detailed design.
• Review and agree client briefs to produce compliant, buildable solutions.
• Organise and manage the daily workload of engineers and technicians within the design team.
• Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations, Kier SHEMS and QMS requirements.
• Drive innovation and value engineering to improve project and commercial outcomes.

Required profile

• Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (or working towards it).
• Post‑graduate experience in hydraulic structures, river engineering or similar.
• Proven ability to manage technical risk and deliver safe, buildable solutions.
• Experience in a consultancy or contractor environment.
