Senior Environmental Health & Safety Specialist

About the role

Snap Inc is seeking a Senior Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to lead the EHS program at its Abingdon, UK facility. The role provides site‑level ownership of health, safety and environmental compliance, driving continuous improvement in a complex manufacturing and laboratory environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own and operate the site EHS management system, serving as the primary EHS point of contact and senior subject‑matter expert.
• Translate corporate EHS strategy into site‑level objectives, programs and performance metrics.
• Provide day‑to‑day technical leadership, mentoring and prioritisation for the site EHS Specialist while remaining hands‑on in operations.
• Ensure compliance with UK legislation including the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, COSHH, DSEAR, PUWER, Environmental Permitting Regulations and the Fire Safety Order.
• Maintain legal registers, regulatory applicability assessments and all compliance documentation.
• Lead internal and external audits, inspections and regulatory interactions, managing findings to closure.
• Oversee risk assessment programmes for manufacturing processes and laboratory activities.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in EHS within a manufacturing or laboratory setting.
• Deep knowledge of UK health, safety and environmental legislation.
• Strong ability to influence site leadership and cross‑functional partners.
• Hands‑on approach with excellent problem‑solving and mentoring skills.
