Senior Estimator – Civil Engineering Projects

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Estimator to join a leading specialist contractor in Glasgow, delivering structural repair, strengthening and refurbishment for civil engineering assets. You will work closely with operations, HSE and design teams to turn tender opportunities into accurate, competitive bids.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse tender opportunities, review drawings and specifications, and define the scope of work.
• Prepare conceptual, budgetary and firm price estimates for a range of civil engineering projects.
• Conduct site visits to identify constraints, risks and required subcontract packages.
• Engage with subcontractors, evaluate proposals and coordinate technical input.
• Manage the tender process, including launch, mid‑bid and settlement meetings, ensuring compliance with bid governance.
• Support contract negotiations and handover to delivery teams.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients and the supply chain.

Required profile

• Background as a construction engineer or technician with experience in civil‑engineering structure repair.
• Strong commercial awareness, cost estimation and risk management skills.
• Ability to work in an office‑based role while undertaking occasional site visits.
