Senior Estimator – Construction Projects

About the role

Robertson Group is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead cost estimating for a diverse portfolio of construction projects across the North West of England, while supporting the Estimating Team based in Stirling. You will play a pivotal role in shaping competitive bids and ensuring value-driven outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Produce accurate cost estimates for a wide range of construction works.
• Review and challenge supply‑chain quotations to maximise value.
• Develop bid strategies in collaboration with the Bid Manager.
• Carry out detailed quantity take‑offs and input labour, plant and material data into estimating systems.
• Issue and vet material and sub‑contract enquiries to support net‑cost pricing.
• Liaise with procurement to obtain material quotations.
• Prepare tender adjudication documents for senior management approval.
• Identify value‑engineering opportunities and assess tender risks.
• Prepare tender letters, technical notes and qualifications.
• Attend client interviews and produce benchmarking reports.
• Enter bid data into the CRM system and mentor junior staff.
• Comply with Robertson QMS procedures and perform other duties as required.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience in the construction sector.
• Proven experience across various project types and values.

Required skills

• Proficiency with estimating software.
• Experience using CRM systems for bid management.
• Strong quantity take‑off capabilities.
