Senior Finance Assistant – Financial Controller

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Senior Finance Assistant to act as a Financial Controller in our fast‑moving team in Chessington. You will own day‑to‑day finance operations, improve financial visibility and build robust processes that support strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare weekly, monthly and annual financial reports and management accounts.
• Analyse performance, trends and risks and present insights to senior leadership.
• Oversee bookkeeping, reconciliations and general‑ledger integrity using Xero or similar.
• Lead the annual budgeting process, produce rolling forecasts and cash‑flow projections.
• Maintain strong financial controls, ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and support VAT, payroll and corporation‑tax processes.
• Improve finance systems, automate reporting and enhance data integrity.
• Partner with department heads to provide commercial insight and act as the main contact for external advisors.

Required profile

• 3+ years’ experience in a senior finance role, preferably in a high‑growth environment.
• Proven ability to run a full finance function and deliver accurate P&L, balance‑sheet and tax reporting.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Excellent communication and the ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership.

What we offer

• Salary £40,000 – £45,000 per annum.
