Senior Finance Manager - FP&A

About the role

The Senior Finance Manager – FP&A will lead planning, forecasting, budgeting and performance reporting for a key business area within a globally recognised aerospace and engineering organisation. Working closely with the CFO and operational leaders, the role provides financial insight to support strategic decision‑making and business performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead financial planning, analysis and reporting for a key business area, providing accurate insight to support strategic decision‑making.
• Own weekly P&L and cash forecasting, ensuring accuracy, quality and timely delivery.
• Lead quarterly forecasting for the current year and Year+1, incorporating inputs from operational, supply chain and finance stakeholders.
• Challenge assumptions and provide variance analysis against forecast, prior year and prior periods.
• Coordinate monthly forecast cycles and produce clear commentary on financial performance and key drivers.
• Partner with business leaders to identify performance gaps and develop action plans.
• Lead the annual budget and long‑range planning processes, aligning with business strategy.
• Own divisional month‑end reporting and work closely with Financial Control for a timely close.
• Manage, coach and develop a team of two FP&A Analysts.
• Support investment appraisals, commercial approvals and wider business initiatives.
• Act as deputy to the CFO when required and drive continuous improvement across FP&A processes.

Required profile

• Significant FP&A experience in a complex production or manufacturing environment, preferably within a regulated safety‑critical sector such as aviation, defence or automotive.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to influence revenue, margin and cash outcomes.
• Proven track record of delivering accurate forecasts, budgets and performance reports to senior leadership.
• Experience leading and developing junior finance analysts.
• Ability to build effective relationships across finance and operational functions.
