Senior Financial Accountant – Hybrid (3 days WFH)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to join a well‑established financial services organisation. Working within a collaborative Financial Control team, you will ensure the accuracy of financial records while driving process improvements and automation.

Key responsibilities

• Support month‑end and year‑end close activities.
• Manage accruals, pre‑payments, fixed assets, leases, intercompany transactions and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with quarterly IFRS reporting processes.
• Maintain robust financial controls and documentation.
• Review supplier payments, expenses and other finance operations.
• Prepare VAT returns and other regulatory submissions.
• Partner with business stakeholders to resolve queries and improve processes.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives across the Financial Control function.
• Identify opportunities for automation using Excel, Power BI and other technologies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial accounting, financial control or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of month‑end and balance‑sheet processes.
• Experience preparing journals, reconciliations and financial reporting outputs.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Continuous‑improvement mindset with a desire to challenge existing processes.
• Exposure to the financial services sector is beneficial but not essential.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Power BI.
• Python or other scripting languages for automation.
