Senior Financial Analyst

About the role

Conservation International is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join its Structured Finance, Analysis and Risk (SFAR) team within the Nature Finance Group. The role supports the development and review of financial models for a variety of nature‑focused investment opportunities and helps build tools that enable the scaling of nature finance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain complex financial models in Excel for pooled asset vehicles, blended‑finance funds, and outcome‑based bonds.
• Prepare and review carbon project financial models for both internal and external developers.
• Support early‑stage business modeling, including structures such as convertible debt.
• Review financial models for debt‑restructuring initiatives, including sovereign debt refinancing for nature projects.
• Monitor GEF/GCF NGI investments and conduct financial due diligence on new opportunities.
• Analyze financial performance of in‑house financial vehicles.
• Create standardized modeling templates and financial tools to streamline analysis across programs.

Required profile

• Proven experience developing financial models in Excel for complex financing structures.
• Familiarity with blended finance, carbon project financing, and early‑stage investment analysis.
• Ability to conduct financial due diligence and performance monitoring for nature‑related investments.
