Senior Financial Control Analyst

About the role

Monzo is looking for a proactive, commercially‑minded accountant to join its Financial Control team. You will help embed software capitalisation processes, own financial reporting for capitalisation, and ensure robust month‑end close controls.

Key responsibilities

• Embed and automate the software capitalisation process in partnership with engineering and business teams.
• Act as product owner for financial reporting of software capitalisation, managing key controls during month‑end close.
• Perform impairment assessments and apply IFRS standards for capitalisation and impairment.
• Support and challenge business decisions with strong technical knowledge and documentary evidence.
• Collaborate with the internal Finance team to ensure a swift and accurate month‑end close.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant with at least 2 years post‑qualification experience.
• Strong commercial mindset and proactive attitude.
• Excellent technical knowledge of IFRS standards related to capitalisation and impairment.
• Ability to work closely with cross‑functional teams and manage tight processes.

Required skills

• IFRS standards (capitalisation, impairment)
• SAP S/4HANA (general ledger)
