Senior Financial Controller

About the role

Our client, a leading trading house, is looking for an experienced Senior Financial Controller to oversee financial operations and ensure the integrity of reporting. The role combines strategic insight with hands‑on control of accounting, budgeting and cash‑flow management.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all financial accounting, reporting and control functions across the business.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts.
• Manage budgeting and forecasting processes, aligning them with business objectives.
• Monitor cash flow, P&L performance and perform balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Maintain and enhance internal control frameworks, financial policies and compliance procedures.
• Liaise with auditors, tax advisors and external stakeholders as required.
• Provide financial analysis and support to senior management for decision‑making and strategic planning.
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team to ensure efficient operations.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with proven post‑qualification experience.
• Previous experience in a trading, commodities or financial‑markets environment.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of financial regulations.
• Excellent analytical, communication and leadership abilities.
