Senior Financial Lines Underwriter – Europe

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Financial Lines Underwriter to drive profitable growth across European markets for a fast‑growing MGA. The role combines complex risk assessment with strategic development of broker relationships and product innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite complex financial line risks (D&O, PI, cyber, transactional liability) across Europe.
• Develop and expand broker relationships to generate new business opportunities.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on underwriting strategy and product development.
• Analyse market trends and competitor activity to identify growth areas.
• Ensure underwriting discipline and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Represent the MGA at industry events and broker meetings throughout Europe.

Required profile

• Proven experience underwriting financial lines in European markets.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of growing profitable portfolios.
• Ability to assess complex risks and craft tailored solutions.
• Excellent broker relationship management skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a drive to innovate.

Required skills

• Underwriting of financial lines such as Directors & Officers, Professional Indemnity, Cyber and Transactional Liability.
• Market analysis and competitor benchmarking.
• Regulatory compliance in insurance underwriting.
