Senior Financial Reporting Accountant

About the role

This is a high‑profile opportunity to join a market‑leading business as a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant. You will work within a busy Group Finance team, taking ownership of key parts of the external reporting cycle while gaining exposure to complex accounting, group consolidations and high‑visibility projects.

Key responsibilities

• Own and deliver elements of the group's external financial reporting cycle, including draft statutory accounts, IFRS disclosures, and supporting the Annual Report & Accounts.
• Prepare and review consolidated financial statements and statutory accounts for key UK and overseas entities.
• Lead technical accounting research and implement new or complex IFRS standards as required.
• Manage balance sheet reconciliations, group journals, and intercompany accounting at a senior level.
• Coordinate closely with external auditors, tax, and corporate finance teams through year‑end and interim processes.
• Support process improvement and control enhancements across the reporting function, including ERP/system projects.
• Mentor and review work of junior accountants and assistants within the reporting team.

Required profile

• Newly qualified ACA or ACCA (0‑2 years PQE) with a strong audit or financial reporting background from a top or mid‑tier practice.
• Solid technical knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP, with exposure to group accounts and statutory reporting.
• Experience preparing or reviewing financial statements, working on year‑end audits, and liaising with external auditors.
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical accounting positions to non‑finance stakeholders.
• Proactive, structured and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
