Senior Fire Safety Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Fire Safety Engineer to lead fire safety design and risk management across a variety of building projects. You will join a small, growing consultancy that values innovation, collaboration and high‑quality service, working directly with clients, design teams and authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support fire safety design and risk assessments for diverse building types.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients.
• Mentor and support junior engineers.
• Conduct site surveys, inspections and fire risk assessments.
• Prepare clear reports, presentations and fire strategy documentation.
• Collaborate with design teams, contractors and regulatory authorities to deliver effective solutions.
• Contribute ideas to support business growth and development.

Required profile

• Degree or postgraduate qualification in Fire Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in fire safety engineering.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards it (IFE or IFSM membership preferred).
• Valid UK driving licence and right to work in the UK.
• Willingness to travel within the UK and abroad as required.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Experience with fire engineering software such as CFD modelling and thermal analysis tools.
